My research and teaching is interdisciplinary and include political science, economics, and religion elements.
After a 28-year career with The Coca-Cola Company, I embarked on a second career in academia in 2020. I earned an MA in History from the University of Mississippi in 2023 and am currently a second year doctoral student at SMU.
My wife, Tracie, and I are blessed with three children and four grandchildren. Jay and Andrea live in Dallas with their two, Collins and Jack. Kate and Kyle live in Atlanta with their two, Dempsey and Perry. And "Uncle" Rob lives in Atanta too.
My immediate goals are to finish my coursework at SMU in May 2025, pass comprehensive exams in Fall 2025, and finish my dissertation in early 2026 so that I can graduate in May 2026.
Once I earn the PhD, I will turn my attention to expanding my dissertation into a monograph for publication with an academic press.
I also aspire to gain a faculty position at a university or college.
